DRAKE SEALS FATE OF MIAMI RAPPER APOLLO LOFTON WHO WAITED 2 HOURS TO PLAY HIS MUSIC

MIAMI, FL – Every aspiring rapper is waiting on their big break no matter how that might come. Miami rapper Apollo Lofton heard Drake was in town earlier this week and paying a visit to a store nearby and the neophyte rhymer tracked the 6 God down and waited outside for two hours just to play Drake his freestyle to “No Friends in the Industry.”

“I just hopped on it, I had to do it,” Lofton can be heard saying to Drake as Drizzy gives him a salute of acknowledgment before getting in his black SUV. “It was too hot. Love you.”

Apollo Lofton joined Power 96 for an interview and expanded on the interaction saying Drake actually called him over to play more of the song after the cameras cut out. He backed up his claims by showing how Drizzy actually shot him a follow for his efforts on Instagram.

NAS USING 'KING DISEASE 2' SONGS TO FEED MILLIONS and Millions OF NYC RESIDENTS

NEW YORK, NY – As a native New Yorker, Nas deeply cares about his community and is proud of the city he comes from — he’s made it evident on songs such as “N.Y. State of Mind” and “A Queens Story.”

On Thursday (September 23), the Queensbridge legend will headline the Concert To Feed NYC at the historic Forest Hills Stadium in an effort to satiate millions of New Yorkers who are experiencing record food shortages. According to QNS, all proceeds will go to City Harvest, New York City’s first and largest food rescue organization, while the costs of the venue have been donated.

The show will mark Nas’ first performance in his hometown in over three years, and he’s greatly anticipating the event, saying, ”I am looking forward to returning to the stage for a performance in my hometown — especially since it supports a cause I care deeply about.”

City Harvest is as equally thrilled about the show but more so about the chance to give back. The need for food has skyrocketed since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020, soaring to 41 percent among all New Yorkers and 53 percent among children.

As City Harvest CEO Jilly Stephens explains, “The Concert to Feed NYC will help us rescue and deliver more food for the many New Yorkers who are struggling to put meals on their tables because of the pandemic, many for the first time.

“We are so grateful to have a dedicated and passionate friend in Nas who will create such a special evening to support our work. Together, we can feed our city.”

NAS 'KING'S DISEASE II' NABS TOP 3 DEBUT ON BILLBOARD 200 CHART

The Concert To Feed NYC is an exclusive event for 4,000 people featuring Speakeasy suites, mini-lounges and lounge-style seating. City Harvest is also bringing high-end culinary experiences for select ticket buyers in partnership with local restaurants such as Butcher Bar, COTE Korean Steakhouse, Dhamaka, Les Trois Chevaux, Melba’s and the Nas-owned Sweet Chick.

Nas fans will get to hear material from the Hip Hop vet’s extensive catalog, including King’s Disease II.  Arriving in August, the project served as the follow-up to the 2020 Grammy Award-winning original and featured Eminem, EPMD and others.

The album landed at No. 3 on Billboard 200 chart with over 56,000 total album-equivalent units earned in its inaugural week. It marked Nas’ highest charting album since 2012’s Life Is Good, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with over 149,000 copies sold.

BABY KEEM ADDS BRENT FAIYAZ COLLAB TO 'THE MELODIC BLUE' ALBUM - PLUS 2 EXTRA SONGS

Baby Keem has taken a page out of Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo playbook and updated his recently-released The Melodic Blue album after the fact.

Following Kanye’s example of making post-release revisions to his “living breathing changing creative expression” from 2016, the pgLang rapper has gone back and tinkered with his debut LP, which originally arrived on September 10.

On Tuesday (September 21), Baby Keem took to Instagram to announce, “i added Brent Faiyaz to the album.” He also let fans know, “(hooligan and no sense) also added.”

A rising R&B singer from Maryland, Brent Faiyaz appears on a new version of “Lost Souls,” which sees him lending his distinctly airy vocals and ladies’ man swagger to the bright, bouncy bop.

“Sixteen missed calls/Sorry, I was busy, but I missed ya/If you see me ballin’ then my bitch ball/All my n-ggas ballin’ like I’m Rich Paul,” Brent croons.

According to Genius, Brent Faiyaz submitted his “Lost Souls” verse at the last minute, which Baby Keem played during the livestream of his The Melodic Blue listening party in New York City earlier this month.

Brent Faiyaz previously linked up with pgLang — the company founded by Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free — for their Calvin Klein campaign at the start of this year. His biggest collaboration, however, came this summer when he joined forces with Drake and The Neptunes on “Wasting Time.”

Hooligan” and “No Sense,” meanwhile, arrived earlier this year as appetizers for Baby Keem’s debut album. All three songs are listed under “Disc 2” of The Melodic Blue on streaming services, essentially making them deluxe edition bonus joints.

BABY KEEM DEFENDS KENDRICK LAMAR’S 'TOP OF DA MORNING' BABBLE: 'RAP WAS BORING'

Originally featuring appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott and Don Toliver, The Melodic Blue debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 after selling 53,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, including 70.1 million on-demand streams. Baby Keem celebrated the success of his debut album by buying his grandmother a house.

J. COLE SPOTTED HOOPING WITH NBA’S ORLANDO MAGIC FOLLOWING PRO BASKETBALL SKIT

ORLANDO, FL – Following his three-game stint with the Rwanda Patriots BBC in May, J. Cole got some run on the basketball court during an off-season workout with the Orlando Magic this week.

The Orlando Magic took to their Twitter account to post a couple of photos of Cole working out in a scrimmage with the team as a special guest ahead of their official training camp opening next week for the 2021-2022 NBA season.

Magic big man Mo Wagner can be seen pointing to Cole as if he’s saying he’s going to be picking him up on the defensive end while New York native Cole Anthony pushes the ball up the floor behind the Dreamville leader as the team’s point guard.

Even at 36 years old, J. Cole isn’t giving up on his hoop dreams. The Detroit Pistons reportedly gave Cole a tryout prior to last season and the Puma ambassador suited up in the Basketball Africa League in May.

It also isn’t a surprise to see J. Cole hooping with NBA players as he’s often spotted playing with the best the league has to offer in the off-season when he’s in NYC.

J. COLE FOLLOWING 3-GAME PRO BASKETBALL EXIT: ‘I PLAN TO GET BETTER’

“Thank you to @thebal and to @patriotsbbc for the opportunity,” he wrote after departing from the team. “Thank you to my teammates, the coaches and staff for treating me like family. I learned so much in the few weeks we were together.”

J. Cole returned to the music scene on Tuesday night (September 21) with the release of his “Heaven’s EP,” which finds him ruminating over the instrumental to Drake’s “Pipe Down.”

RIHANNA & TRAVIS SCOTT ACCUSED BY PORN STAR HARLEY DEAN OF SPREADING STDS IN DETAILED ACCOUNT TO ALMIGHTY JAY

Rapper Almighty Jay sat there with a horrified look on his face as porn actress Harley Dean made some wild accusations about Rihanna.

After Jay told Dean people say she looks like the Barbadian singer, she replied, “She hates me … because I worked with her a few years ago right before she launched her [Clara Lionel] foundation back in 2015, her White Gala [Diamond Ball].

“I helped fundraise her gala here in Hollywood while she was fucking my boss and gave my boss chlamydia. And here I am, the hoe, alleged hoe, yeah I am a hoe, but everyone thought that I was the one fucking my boss and in all reality, it was this bitch. It came out that she got him sick — ’cause he was married, he’s a king or a prince in Africa — and he came out here back in 2013.”

She added, “Right before they were fucking around — I don’t know if it was Travis. I don’t know who Rihanna was fucking — but she got dirty and got him dirty, and it was a whole thing.”

When Dean said she tried to get into the 2016 gala, they stopped her at the door and said, “Sorry Harley, but Rihanna said you can’t get in.” She then insisted she wasn’t lying.

Travis Scott and Rihanna’s relationship stretches back to at least 2015 when they were an item. After roughly a year, they split up amid claims she was embarrassed to be seen with him. Since then, Scott has moved on with Kylie Jenner and the couple is currently expecting their second child.

Meanwhile, Rihanna is still going strong with A$AP Rocky since confirming the romance in May. Most recently, the A-list couple stepped out at the 2021 Met Gala in New York City.

Me and my partner Chrishan cooked up the demo and were in Miami with Ty Dolla $ign,” Hitmaka explained of the track in a statement. “Shortly after we sent it to Queen Naija, and it really came together. It’s about wanting to be with someone but not having all the time needed so let’s make the best of these moments.”
