Tekashi 6ix9ine Associate Kooda B Granted Temporary Prison Release Due To Coronavirus

Tekashi 6ix9ine Associate Kooda B Granted Temporary Prison Release Due To Coronavirus

NEW YORK, NY –

A defendant in the Tekashi 6ix9ine racketeering case, Kooda B, will be temporarily released from prison over coronavirus concerns.
According to Complex, Judge Paul A. Engelmayer acknowledged at least four inmates at the Metropolitan Correctional Center where he’s in jail have contracted the coronavirus. Because Kooda has asthma, “the MCC has identified him as ‘high risk’ with respect to COVID-19.”
Last Thursday (March 27), Kooda’s attorney Lisa Scolari asked Engelmayer for her client to be released on the same $300,000 bond he was initially released on last year because of his asthmatic condition and susceptibility to COVID-19.
Scolari explained Kooda need a albuterol inhaler at least once a month due to “shortness of breath” and noted the deplorable prison conditions.
“They are overcrowded, making it impossible to enforce the social distancing necessary to prevent spread of the virus,” she said. “Inmates live in close quarters, share facilities such as sinks and showers. The MCC also has shortages of soap and disinfectants.”

Kooda B pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering last summer due to his involvement in the 2018 shooting of Chief Keef outside of the W Hotel in Times Square.
The government originally denied Scolari’s request, explaining Kooda’s “reliance on the current health crisis to secure his release — post-conviction and less than three months from sentencing —is unfounded and should be denied.” But evidently, Engelmayer took Scolari’s concerns seriously.

6ix9ine wasn’t so fortunate. His attorney Lance Lazzaro made a similar request last week but was denied. However, Engelmayer was sympathetic to his situation.

Murda Beatz Explains 'Banana Split' Single With YNW Melly & Lil Durk

Murda Beatz Talks 'Banana Split' Single With YNW Melly & Lil Durk

Murda Beatz has crafted bangers for numerous heavy hitters in the industry, including Drake, Travis Scott, Gucci Mane and Migos — and he’s just 26 years old.
Originally from Toronto, the Grammy Award-winning producer eventually connected with Takeoff, Quavo and Offset for the 2015 song “Pipe It Up” after years of grinding, and he’s been going full force ever since. He credits Migos with putting him on.
“I definitely built my brand with the Migos, those are my boys,” he tells HipHopDX. “2016 was a great time because that’s when they started. They had their breakout single ‘Bad and Boujee’ and they became the biggest thing in rap. And 2016, ’17, ’18, that was when I had my big run and became one of the top producers in rap as well. So it’s crazy how after them, I had my own come up with Drake, Travis, a bunch of people, and then they had theirs and then we both ended up at top together. It’s just amazing.
“It took a lot of dedication and sacrifice and really being hungry and knowing what you want at a young age. It was a grind. At the beginning, it was more just making beats, getting better, networking, meeting people through the internet and then to get to the next level, it was more of a travel thing, meeting people in person and building those relationships in person. That’s what took me to the next level.”

Jahi & Configa - "Mindfulness"

It’s been almost three weeks since Enemy Radio MC Jahi and seasoned producer Configa dropped their collaborative album, Forward Future. After sharing a visual for the title track, the duo is back with a new video for “Mindfulness.”
Directed by Black Camera Productions, the beautifully shot video finds the Cleveland native posted up by the water, penning his verses as he sits by a pit fire.
“The nighttime is the right time for me to kick a rhyme,” he spits. “20 years later, still reaching my prime without the Amazon or the cameras on.”

While speaking to HipHopDX, Jahi revealed this is a daily part of life for him.
“The song is really an interpersonal look into my life as I try to maintain my mindfulness,” Jahi told DX. “It speaks to the inner work a person can do to bring balance to the mind, body and spirit. The video shows you where I go and what I do to achieve mindfulness. For me, it’s being near water that helps me center. And I’m a night owl.
“When it’s quiet outside, I can think inside. With all that is going on in the world and the need for mental health awareness in Hip Hop, Configa and I thought this would be a good time to share it with folks as a cultural PSA.”

French Montana Sued For Alleged Sexual Battery

French Montana Sued For Alleged Sexual Battery

LOS ANGELES, CA – A woman has accused French Montana and his employee Mansour Bennouna of sexual battery and sexual assault. According to The Blast, the unidentified woman says she was raped in French’s home on March 28, 2018 by Bennouna and sexually assaulted by the Coke Boys Records founder.
She claims to have been invited to French’s home after meeting him at his Los Angeles recording studio. After allegedly being offered a shot, which rendered her incapacitated, she remembers “several men coming in and out of the bedroom,” which is when she believes she was raped by Bennouna and assaulted by French.
When she regained consciousness, she reportedly “felt a pain in her pelvis, lower back and vagina” and began “crying hysterically because she felt that she had been drugged and raped.” She subsequently had a rape kit administered at a Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, which found traces of semen, and reported her alleged rape to the police.

She also alleged French and his employee would provide and encourage excessive amounts of alcohol and drug use and “would sometimes without the women’s knowledge or consent provide drugs to interfere with the women’s ability to knowingly consent to sexual activity.”
