ACTION BRONSON AUDITIONED FOR A ROLE IN THE UPCOMING 'MATRIX' MOVIE...........Interesting!!!!!

Action Bronson is looking to bolster his IMDB page once again. In an interview published Friday (October 30) with NME, the Flushing native confirms rumors he indeed auditioned for a role in 2021’s upcoming The Matrix 4 movie, but says he didn’t get the role.

“Nah, I definitely didn’t get the role,” he explained. “I would have known, I would’ve acted in it. I would have been in a fucking harness hanging off a wire from a bridge or something. I definitely read for it, though, but it was bizarre.”

Bronson believes he would’ve had a better shot if the read was in-person rather than over the phone so the director and producers would’ve gotten charmed by the true “Baklava experience.”

The 36-year-old continued, “It was during COVID and the reading was over the phone. It was just a weird situation. I’m better in person, I have to charm you. You’ve actually got to see the whole me. It’s not good to just get a snippet of me over the phone, you know? You have to really take in the Baklava experience.”

So fans shouldn’t expect Bronsolino to grace their screens when the fourth installment of The Matrix series hits theaters in December 2021.

The speculation came about when the Fuck, That’s Delicious star hinted at possibly earning a role in the film during the opening verse of Only For Dolphins cut “Cliff Hanger,” which dropped in September.

“Well, I prefer Trading Places/Shit, I might have landed a role in the new Matrix/Cop the blue spaceship,” he raps.

Bronson has stayed busy in Hollywood in recent years. He appeared in 2019’s star-studded The Irishman as a casket salesman and then pulled off a cameo as a stabbing victim in Judd Apatow’s The King of Staten Island.

DAVE CHAPPELLE'S LEGENDARY 'CHAPPELLE'S SHOW' COMING TO NETFLIX......Congrats!!!!!!

Old episodes of Dave Chappelle’s iconic sketch comedy show have reportedly found a new home at Netflix. According to Decider, Chappelle’s Show will be available on Sunday (November 1), something the company determined was “the best news you’ve heard all year.”

The series originally lived at Comedy Central and ran for two seasons until Chappelle famously walked away at the height of its popularity. A third season, titled “The Lost Episodes,” eventually made its way out of the vault, but that was the end of it.

Chappelle’s Show first aired in 2003 and combined stand-up comedy, sketches featuring Chappelle and a musical performance from Hip Hop artists such as Kanye West, De La Soul, Busta Rhymes and Cee-Lo Green.

Throughout its three-year run, Chappelle’s Show produced several unforgettable characters, including the lovable crack addict Tyrone Biggums, Player Hater’s Ball pimp “Silky” Johnson and cocaine dealer Tron Carter. Memorable skits include “Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories,” “The Mad Real World” and “When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong.”

Following Chappelle’s self-imposed hiatus, he returned to the spotlight in 2017 with the comedy specials Dave Chappelle: Equanimity and Dave Chappelle: The Age of Spin. His more recent special, Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones, arrived last year.

Chappelle, who’s based in Yellow Springs, Ohio, recently appeared on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman and opened up the moment he decided to walk away from the $50 million deal he was offered to continue doing the show.

As Chappelle explained, he was in the middle of filming a sketch in which race the primary topic. When a member of the crew laughed at the wrong moment, he wondered if people didn’t understand what he was trying to do.

“It just raised an interesting question to me, which I was already wrestling with in the first place,” he told Letterman. “The sketch wasn’t that bad. It’s actually funny. It was a pixie. It was me dressed in blackface who’d pop up anytime a person felt the pains of racism, which is a tough trick to pull off. It’s not a bad sketch, but hearing the wrong laugh, while you’re dressed that way, it makes you feel shame.”

Chappelle has been outwardly vocal about his love for Hip Hop culture since the launch of his career. In 2005, he released a film called Dave Chappelle’s Block Party dedicated to the late producer J Dilla, who died just one month before the movie came out.

Mos Def, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, The Roots along with The Central State University Marching Band and a reunited Fugees were among the many performances featured in the film.

HIT-BOY SAYS HES GOT THE 2020 PRODUCTION CROWN FOR COMING UP WITH ‘MOST STYLES’ THIS YEAR

Hit-Boy has been on an impressive run this year and he’s proudly patting himself on the back for it.

On Friday (October 30), the platinum-selling producer laid claim to being the most versatile among his peers this year. He made sure to show love while doing so, though.

“I don’t like being controversial and I love all my producer homies but I came wit the most styles in 2020,” he wrote. “Look it up.”

In addition to executive producing full albums for Nas (August’s King’s Diseaseand Big Sean (September’s Detroit 2), Hit-Boy has provided production for Jay Electronica, JAY-Z, Tinashe, Conway The Machine, DeJ Loaf, Mick Jenkins and more. He also produced Benny The Butcher‘s highly-anticipated Burden of Proof album in its entirety, and he’s got something in the works with Curren$y.

Most recently, Hit-Boy produced Freddie Gibbs’ new single with Big Sean, “4 Thangs.”

HIT-BOY CREDITS JAY-Z FOR ARRANGING BENNY THE BUTCHER & FREDDIE GIBBS' 'ONE WAY FLIGHT' COLLAB

Talking to HipHopDX last fall, the talented producer offered some insight into how he has such range.

“It’s all about balance, having a sound that anyone can feel and relate to,” he told DX. “Working with so many artists at once keeps me on my toes and locked into what’s next. Chalice is the spot, a very creative place. You feel like it’s time to work when you pull up here.”

50 CENT HAS SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT LIL WAYNE'S DONALD TRUMP ENDORSEMENT...........hmmmmmm?

50 Cent had social media in an uproar after he told his 26.2 million Instagram followers to “vote for Trump” earlier this month. Although his ex Chelsea Handler ultimately got him to denounce Donald Trump by enticing him with “another round” in the bedroom and admit he “wasn’t serious,” the damage was seemingly done.

Now, Lil Wayne has emerged as the latest rapper to jump on the Trump train and Fiddy has something to day about it. On Thursday (October 29), the television executive headed to both Twitter and Instagram where he clowned Wayne for posing next to Trump with a cheesy grin on his face.

He wrote in the caption, “Oh no Wayne, I WOULD HAVE NEVER TOOK THIS PICTURE.” He added a pair of eyeball emojis for emphasis.

Wayne undoubtedly raised a few eyebrows with his Twitter post praising the current POTUS, which he shared on Thursday.

“Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus,” he wrote in the caption. “besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.”

Unsurprisingly, Weezy has received plenty of criticism for his Trump endorsement, especially from his peers. Both Lil Jon and Royce Da 5’9 made it abundantly clear they’re not down with Trump or Wayne’s support of him.

In an Instagram post, Nickle Nine re-shared the now-viral photo and insinuated he misses the 2011 Wayne by quoting Tha Carter IV track “6 Foot 7 Foot.”

“This ain’t the Iconic Genius that said. {And I Quote} ‘Bitch, real G’z move in silence like lasagna’…. Nope. I rebuke you, Satan … Stay away from our [GOATS’].. And Wayne would’ve NEVER worn a shirt to the White House.”

BENNY THE BUTCHER EXPLAINS WHY HIS NAS COLLAB WASN'T RELEASED & CONFIRMS DRAKE VERSE EXCHANGE.....................whaaaaat!!

Benny The Butcher has recorded a song with Nas, but both men decided it wasn’t appropriate for their respective albums in 2020. The Griselda Records MC detailed why it shouldn’t be the first collaboration fans hear from them in an interview with Apple Music’s Ebro Darden.

“Me and Nas got a record, but we chose not to put it on his album or my album,” he said. “We gon’ work on more music. I like the record, but to be honest with you, it was a female record. And I feel like people didn’t wanna hear Benny and Nas, the first time they’re hearing us, on a female record. And it’s a dope record. Females would’ve love it, but your first time you’re hearing The Butch and Esco, you probably wasn’t looking for that.”

Nas isn’t the only big name working with Benny though. The Butcher also confirmed an exchange of verses with Drake, but he made a point to not get fans’ hopes up in case they never see the light of day.

“I gave him a verse for something he’s working on, he gave me a verse for something I’m working on,” Benny said. “The intent was pure. We just linked up and felt like it’s the right thing to do, where we from and what we represent. I respect him for that … He don’t gotta reach out and send no verse to me or how he do, so I’m just appreciative of that.”

Benny is fresh off the release of his Burden Of Proof album, which was produced entirely by Hit-Boy.

The LP dropped on October 16 and became the highest-charting Griselda Records project in the label’s history.

EMINEM CONGRATULATED BY ROYCE DA 5'9 FOR 'MUSIC TO BE MURDERED BY' MILLION SALES MILESTONE..........yessir!!!! big ups!!!

Eminem’s Music To Be Murdered By album is officially eligible for platinum certification. According to Chart Data, Slim Shady’s latest LP has sold over 1 million copies as of Wednesday (October 28).

The project’s success elicited praise from Eminem’s Bad Meets Evil partner Royce Da 5’9, who acknowledged the achievement via Instagram. Royce simply captioned his photo with a fire emoji.

Music To Be Murdered By dropped as a surprise in January. Despite its lack of pre-release promotion, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after selling roughly 279,000 album equivalent units in its first week.

Eminem’s 20-track LP was his 10th straight project to debut at top of the chart, setting a Billboard record for most consecutive No. 1 albums. Music To Be Murdered By was officially certified gold by the Recording Industry of America in March.

Music To Be Murdered By featured collaborations with Royce, Black Thought, Anderson .Paak, Q-Tip, KXNG Crooked, Joell Ortiz, Young M.A and the late Juice Wrld, among others. Production was handled by Eminem, Dr. Dre, The Alchemist, Mr. Porter, Dawaun Parker and more.

RUSS SAYS DRAKE IS THE ONLY RAPPER ON HIS LEVEL OF ABILITY & VERSATILITY............Peep the what he has to say below!!!!!

Russ is confident in his work after years rapping, singing, producing and generally doing things his own way — and he doesn’t hold back on letting his 3.4 million Instagram followers know. During a recent Instagram Live session, Russ boldly put himself and Drake in a league of their own.

“There’s one rapper who can fuck with me and it’s Drake,” he said. “That’s it. No rapper can give you ‘Losing Control,’ ‘MVP’ and also ‘Best on Earth’ except Drake. And the difference is, I produce this shit so that’s a whole new level.”

Just so his comments didn’t get misconstrued, Russ later clarified what he originally said on a post from DJ Akademiks.

“Never said nothin bout ‘best,'” he said. “Was talkin moreso about ability and versatility. And then yea, also producin some songs..drakes the [GOAT] tho duh lol. Also, you’re supposed to think you’re great lol if more people had my confidence more people might get what they want outta life too.”

Russ spoke on the topic of streaming platforms “blackballing” artists in September, following Akademiks’ discussion about Tory Lanez and Tekashi 6ix9ine.

“Being ‘blackballed’ by DSP’s would mean your music is just simply not even on the platforms at all,” Russ wrote. “You don’t need playlists to let your fans know you dropped music. That’s what your social media with millions of followers is for lol how is not getting on editorial (opinion) based playlists but still being able to be on the actual platform itself blackballed?”

Ak argued 60-70 percent of artist streams come from playlisting, but Russ claimed 70 percent came from his profile and listeners’ own playlists, 28 percent from Spotify playlists and 2 percent other.

In June, Russ revealed his financial records from music between 2013 and 2017 in order to show artists the importance of owning their releases.

“For inspirational purposes,” he said. “My come up. OWNERSHIP. Ups and downs is all part of the journey. STICK WITH IT. The big dip in fall of 2016 is when I partnered and moved my main earners over to Columbia cuz I wanted them on my debut album. I stopped it at 2017 cuz I don’t need y’all fully in my pockets like that but also, every dollar on this I kept (except taxes) cuz as some have liked to laugh at, I produced mixed mastered engineered and wrote all of this. I been laughing the whole time!!!”

WU-TANG CLAN LEGEND GHOSTFACE KILLAH CONFIRMS ‘SUPREME CLIENTELE 2’ ALBUM...........whhaaaaaaat!!!! Classic!!!!!

As the Hip Hop community is well aware, Wu-Tang Clan is forever and members of the celebrated Hip Hop group just keep pumping out music. On Tuesday (October 27), Ghostface Killah essentially confirmed a sequel to his critically acclaimed solo album Supreme Clientele is on the way with an Instagram post.

The photo features Mr. Tony Starks rocking a purple Gucci sweatsuit and the caption, “WU-BLOCK.. SUPREME 2 IN THE MAKING!!!! #wutangforever #ghostfacemusic #supremeclientele #wublock #ghostfacekillah.”

The original Supreme Clientele dropped in 2000 and featured guest spots from his Wu-Tang brethren Cappadonna, GZA, Masta Killa, Method Man, Raekwon, Redman, RZA and U-God, among others. The 21-track project, Ghostface’s second solo album, debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, selling over 134,000 copies in its first week.

JuJu from The Beatnuts, Hassan of the U.M.C.’s, The Hitmen and several Wu-Tang affiliates have production credits, but RZA and Ghostface did the majority of the production and mixing as they were forced to “re-compiled” and “re-worked” the album’s beats following a flood in RZA’s basement.

“The jewel of the whole shit is that I lost mad shit in that flood,” he told The Source in 2000. “I got it again. It took me about two years, but I got now at least 200–300 beats. I studied the music, I studied the books and I said ‘fuck that. Hip-hop is gonna be able to be played in Carnegie Hall. Not with a DAT, but with a 10-piece orchestra, and have a turntable in it, and Bobby Digital right there in the middle.'”

During a March interview with HipHopDX, RZA explained the success of Supreme Clientele was bittersweet due to some personal challenges at the time.

“The only glitch in the matrix for me on that album was that I wasn’t fully clear-headed as I should have been,” RZA said. “Even though we pulled it off, there were also things that happened in my personal life that changed my life. If you remember that picture of Ghostface and I on the cover of The Source for that album, and the question was ‘Will The Wu-Tang Empire [Strike Back]?’ We’re both there and my Blackberry starts goin’ off while we’re taking photos for The Source, and I’m just waiting ’til I finish working.

“When I finally answered it, it was like ‘Mom is in the hospital. With me and Ghost, my mother is like his mother. He got children with my sister, so we both rushed down to the hospital and the whole family’s there. My moms didn’t wake up from that. So for me, it was just that time in life so it’s just a different type of memory, a different type of everything. We still had to finish the record. So for me, it was hard for the Wu-Tang to rise after that in all reality.”

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY: 20 CLASSIC BARS FROM GHOSTFACE KILLAH'S 'SUPREME CLIENTELE'

In the 20 years since its release, Ghostface has released 11 additional solo albums, including 2019’s Ghostface Killahs, in addition to his work on Wu-Tang albums such as 2000’s The W and 2014’s A Better Tomorrow.

In this video, Saigon gives his eight year old daughter Milan a Promise Ring (which every father should give their daughter) that represents a pact she makes with him to always represent herself as a strong, self respecting, confident and intelligent young lady. Who better than to show a young girl than her own Dad!!! Saigon is the last of the true artist and he is back to show you why? JAY-Z LAUNCHES HIS 1ST CANNABIS BRAND MONOGRAM...........cha ching!!!!!.....

JAY-Z has expanded his business ventures by announcing his first brand of marijuana. The Roc Nation boss has launched MONOGRAM, a cannabis line born from his partnership with the California-based company Caliva.

Hov’s brand isn’t on sale yet, but the cannabis line has begun its rollout with an official website and Instagram account. MONOGRAM bills itself as having “careful strain selection” and boasts about its board of “cannabis experts who grade and select every flower by hand.”

Although MONOGRAM hasn’t announced a release date as of press time, potential customers can sign up on the brand’s website to be one of the first to access it. It is unknown if the cannabis line will be available at dispensaries since it’s only touting the availability through an e-commerce platform.

JAY-Z partnered with Caliva to become the cannabis company’s Chief Brand Strategist in 2019. Part of his role involves increasing legal participation in the marijuana industry for people who served time in prison on weed-related charges.

“Anything I do, I want to do correctly and at the highest level,” he said in a press release last year. “With all the potential in the cannabis industry, Caliva’s expertise and ethos make them the best partners for this endeavor. We want to create something amazing, have fun in the process, do good and bring people along the way.”

SAWEETIE’S BIRKIN BAG COMMENT.............!!!!!!!

Saweetie has people fired up on social media after suggesting how women should handle dating. The Warner Records artist told ladies to dump any man who’s not buying her a Hermès Birkin bag or paying bills, eliciting a shrug from her boyfriend Quavo.

“If he not giving you a Birkin, if he not paying for yo bills, then throw that nigga back to the streets,” she said with a hair flip.

While Saweetie’s remarks had plenty of Twitter users fired up with hot takes, the comments essentially act as promotion for her new single “Back To The Streets.” The Jhené Aiko-assisted track dropped on Friday (October 23) as part of the rollout for Saweetie’s next album Pretty Bitch Music.

Saweetie’s latest song sees her calling out an ex for using her and boasting about finding a rich suitor. She refers to her former man as “just a lease” and celebrates sending him back to the streets on the cut’s hook.

“Had to hit the Heisman on ya homies/Stepping in here bad bitches only/My ex used to act like he owned me/Ain’t enough just to treat me like a trophy/I had that, passed that, knew I had to trash that/Bounced on his ass, turn that boy into flashback/I’m a five-star bitch with a price tag/Gotta find me somebody that can match that,” she raps on the first verse.

WESTSIDE GUNN MAKES HIS CASE TO RUN DEF JAM: 'I'M ACTUALLY OVERQUALIFIED'........mmmmm ok!

With Westside Gunn‘s retirement from the music game on the horizon, he’s already mapping out his next move. The Griselda Records frontman took to Twitter on Thursday night (October 22) to make his case to be the next leader of Def Jam Records.

“I WANNA RUN @defjam and I’m actually OVER qualified,” he claimed.

Def Jam’s president position has remained vacant in the interim ever since Eminem’s longtime manager Paul Rosenberg stepped down in February. He was running the label since 2018. We’ve seen artists at the helm in the past, as JAY-Z held a stint from 2005 to 2007.

50 Cent lobbied for the position with a hint of his usual trolling antics shortly after Rosenberg’s departure earlier this year.

“I have decided to take the job at Def Jam,” he wrote to Twitter. “Somebody gotta do it, who better than me?”

The Buffalo native could possibly be taking a page out of Kanye West’s book when attempting to speak certain ideas into existence. Westside has developed a friendship with Yeezy, as he and the Griselda gang made a trip out to Wyoming to visit Kanye’s ranch in 2020.

WG unleashed his anticipated Shady Records debut WHO MADE THE SUNSHINE at the top of October, which served as his third project released in 2020.

The album’s versatile guest list saw features from Griselda artists Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine and Armani Caeser, as well as the likes of the legendary Slick Rick, Black Thought, Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss and more.
